Common questions

Useful answers, without the runaround.

01

Why does Fairway Caddie request location?

Location is requested only after you choose to find a nearby real course. It is used for the course lookup and on-course distance calculations. The app does not request background location.

02

Can I use the app without granting location?

Yes. You can use the clearly labelled synthetic demo and view previously saved round information without granting location.

03

Does a round work offline?

After a course package is downloaded, the active round and saved course information remain available without a network connection. Finding a new real course requires an internet connection.

04

How do I delete an active round?

Open Settings in the app, choose the clear active round option and confirm. You can also clear all app storage through Android settings or uninstall the app.

05

Where is my scorecard export?

When you export a CSV scorecard, Android asks where to save or share it. The resulting file is controlled by you and the storage destination you selected.

06

Why might a course or green be missing?

Current course coverage depends on community-mapped OpenStreetMap data and is not guaranteed. Always confirm mapped course information and yardages locally.
