1. Who we are

Fairway Caddie is an Android golf companion provided by BAS Design Co. For privacy questions or requests, email darren@supadesign.xyz.

2. Information the app accesses

Foreground location

If you choose to find a nearby real course, Fairway Caddie asks for approximate or precise location permission. It uses your current latitude, longitude and reported GPS accuracy to find nearby mapped course features and calculate distances while the app is in use.

Fairway Caddie does not request background location. You can decline location permission and still use the clearly labelled synthetic demo and previously saved round information.

Course lookup request

When you request a real-course lookup, the app sends a coordinate query over HTTPS to one of several public Overpass API services. These services return community-mapped OpenStreetMap course data. The service operator may also receive ordinary network metadata, such as your IP address, under its own operating and privacy practices.

Information stored on your device

The active course package, current hole, scores, bag carry distances, strategy and app settings are stored locally so a round can recover if the app process stops. If you opt in to reliability counters, the app stores only device-local event counts. This build does not transmit those counters.

3. How information is used

• To find a nearby mapped golf course when you request it.
• To calculate and display mapped green distances.
• To save and recover your active round on your device.
• To create a scorecard CSV when you choose to export it.
• To remember your bag, strategy and display preferences.

Fairway Caddie does not use your information for advertising, cross-app tracking or sale.

4. Third parties and data sources

Course lookup uses public Overpass API endpoints to retrieve OpenStreetMap data. Course data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and is made available under the Open Database License 1.0.

The app currently contains no advertising, payment, account, cloud-sync or remote-analytics SDK.

5. Retention, export and deletion

Local round information and settings remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. In Settings, you can confirm deletion of the active round. Turning off local reliability counters deletes those counters.

A CSV scorecard is created only when you choose an export destination. After export, that copy is controlled by you and by the storage provider you selected.

Fairway Caddie has no user accounts, so there is no server-side account record to delete.

6. Security

Network course lookups use HTTPS. Android app backup is disabled for this build, and cleartext network traffic is disabled. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

Fairway Caddie is a general golf utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly create profiles of children or offer account-based services.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's data practices or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain on this page with a revised date.
